Mini Lesson

You have learned to draw digitally, record your voice, and use tech tools to create. Now it is time to put it all together — with a partner — and make a digital story!

What is a digital story?

  • A digital story combines pictures, written text, and sometimes a recorded voice to tell a story using technology.
  • It can be as simple as three drawings with one sentence each — a beginning, a middle, and an end.
  • Example: Page 1 — a drawing of a robot waking up. Page 2 — the robot helps a child. Page 3 — everyone is happy.

How to work well with a partner

  • Plan first — agree on your story idea before you start creating. Write it on paper together.
  • Share the jobs — one person draws while the other writes the sentences, then swap.
  • Listen to each other — if your partner has a good idea, use it!
  • Take turns — do not grab the device; ask politely for your turn.

The three-part story plan

  • Beginning — who is in the story? Where are they?
  • Middle — what happens? What is the problem or adventure?
  • End — how does it finish? Is everyone OK?
