- 2Label at least two of its parts
- 3Explain the job it does
📘
Mini Lesson
Engineers and inventors start with a drawing before they build anything. Today you are the inventor! You will design your very own smart helper machine — one that could help a person do a job more easily.
What makes a good smart helper machine?
- It does a specific job — it helps with one clear task, like cleaning, cooking, or carrying things.
- It can think or react — it senses what is around it or responds to instructions.
- Example: a machine that waters plants — it checks if the soil is dry and adds exactly the right amount of water.
How to plan your drawing
- Think about a job that is hard or boring for people — that is a great job for a smart machine!
- Give your machine a name.
- Draw its parts and label at least two (wheels, arms, sensors, screen, buttons).
What to write on your drawing
- Write the machine's name at the top.
- Write one sentence: "My machine helps by ___________."
- Label two parts with arrows.
💡
Ask yourself: "What job does my machine do? Is it a smart machine — can it think or react? What are its parts called?
