Every family has rules β and rules are there to keep everyone safe, happy, and kind!
What is a rule?
- A rule is a statement that tells us what we should or should not do.
- Example: "Wash your hands before eating" is a family rule that keeps us healthy.
- Rules use words like always, never, do not, or must.
Why do families need rules?
- Rules keep family members safe β for example, "Hold an adult's hand near the road."
- Rules help us be kind β for example, "Be nice to your siblings."
- Rules keep the home tidy and peaceful β for example, "Put your toys away after playing."
Common family rules
- Say "please" and "thank you."
- Do not hit or shout at others.
- Help with chores at home.
